AUTHORISING PURCHASE OF CRUSHER RUN ROCK FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR 1942-1943 IN THE OPER MARKET.

WHEREAS, the Council of the City cf Alameda heretofore adopted Specifi-
cations and Provisions No. 2-- 6-425 for furnishing materials and supplies, to wit,
crusher run rock, to said City for the fiscal year 1942-1943, and duly advertised
for sealed bids thereon as provided by the charter; and
WHEREAE, in response to said advertisement one bid. was received; and
WHEREAS, in the opinion of the City Council, the prices quoted in said
bids are in. excess of the amodnt for which such materials and supplies, in accord-
ance with said specifications, can. be rchased in the open market;
NCW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that all of the bids received, as aforesaid,
for furnishing crusher run rock under said. specifications be, and the same are
hereby, rejected.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that said City Coanoil hereby finds and determines
that, in its oninion, crusher run rock, cof.forming to said snecifications, can be
purchased by the City at a lower Trice in the open market than by ourchasing same
on contract let on such bids or after further call for bids.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that materials and supplies, conforming to said
specificatiorn, be purchased by the City in the open market and without further
call for bids.
I, the undersig7ied, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly
and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda 2- regular
meeting assembled on the 7th day uf 1942, by the following vote, to wit:
