HEHEAS, Article XII of the Charter of the City of Alameda provides
that a General Municipal Election shall be held in said city on Tuesday, March
0, 1943; and
valEREAS, , at said General Municipal Election_ and 'pursuant to the pro-
visions of the charter o1' said city officers are to be elected to fill the
orrice of C;ouncl.lman for full and u.nexpired terms;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESCUED BY yffE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 1'Eu0
that e General Municipal Election be, and is hereby, called and ordered to be
hold in said City of Alameda, State of California, on Tuesday, March 9, 1943,
in accordance with the provisions of said charter of the City of Alameda, for
the purpose of electing three (3) Councilmen on the City Council of said City
for terms as follows:
Two (2) Councilmen on the Council of said city for two (2)
full terms, each commencing at 8 o'clock, p. m., on the
third Tuesday in April, 19,3, and continuing for four (4)
years thereafter and until a successor is elected and
qualified;
One (1) Councilman on the Council of said city for one (1)
unexpired term, commencing at 8 o'clock, p. m., on the
third Tuesday in April, 1943, and continuing for two (2)
years thereafter and until a successor is elected and

and for the purpose cf voting on any measure or proposition which may lawfully
be submitted at said election.
BE IT FORTNER RESOLVED that the 108 election precincts within the City
of Alameda, designated and numbered consecutively from No. 1 to No. 308, both
inclusive, as the same were last heretofore defined, designated, fixed and estab-
lished. by the Beard of Supervisors of the County of Alameda, State of California,
by resolutions of said board Us. 37,927, adopted December 11, 1941, and No,
38,790, adopted July 9, 1942, as the election precincts within the City of Ala-
meda for holding General State and County Elections, be, and the same are hereby,
fixed, designated and established as the election precincts for holding the afore-
said General Municipal Election,
DE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Election for each election
precinct at said General Municipal Election shall consist of one Inspector, one
Judge and two Clerks.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the compensation to be paid to each of the
election officers for condecting said General Municipal Election he, and the
same is hereby, fixed at the sum of 4.5.00, provided that the additional sum of
41,00 shall be paid to the election officer who delivers the returns to the City
Clerk.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the City Clerk be, and she is hereby, directed
to de and perform any and all acts required of her under the charter of the City
of Alameda and the laws of the State of California in respect to said General
Municipal Election.
BE iT FURTHER RESOLVED that said General Municipal. Election. called and
and ordered to be held, as aforesaid, shall be held and conducted, and the votes
cast thereat received and canvassed, and the returns thereof made, and the result
thereof ascertained, determined and declared, as herein provided, and in all
particulars not recited herein in accordance with the charter of said City of
Alameda and the laws of the State or California governing said General Municipal
Election.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council ot the City cf Alameda
in adjourned regular meeting assembled on the 25th day of January, 19430 by the
following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Hronscheid, HOWQ, Jones, Maurer mid President Godfrey,
NOES: None.
