RESOLUTION NO. 2903
AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF LEASE BETWEEN THE ROMAN
CATHOLIC ARCHBISHOP OF SAN FRANCISCO AND CITY OF
ALAMEDA.
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda is in need of a location in the easterly
portion of the city to be used for the purpose cf housing and operating auxiliary
fire apparatus; and
WHEREAS, The Roman Catholic Archbishop of San Francisco, a corporation.
o.Le, is willing to lease to the City of Alameda that certain parcel of land
situated in the City of Alameda, County of Alameda, State of California, des-
cribed as follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the South-
westerly line of Van Buren Street with the Southeasterly
line of Fountain Street; running thence along said line
of Van Buren Street L5 feet to a point; thence at right
angles Southwesterly 30 feet to a point; thence at right
angles Northwesterly 45 feet to a point on said South-
easterly line of Fountain Street; thence Northeasterly
along said line of Fountain Street 30 feet to the point
of beginning.
Being a portion of Lot 4, in Block 90, es said lot
and block are delineated on that certain map entitled
"Map of the Town of Alameda and Adjacent Lands," on file
in the office cf the County Recorder of Alameda County,
for a term of six (6) months ending January 20, 1910, . at a monthly rental of Five
Dollars (45.00) per month, and with the further understanding that said lease may
be automatically renewed from month to month at the same rental and upon the
terms and conditions more specifically set forth in the form of lease hereinafter
referred to; and
WHEREAS, a form of lease containing the covenants and agreements to be
stipulated and agreed upon by and between the City of Alameda and The Roman
Catholic Archbishop of San Francisco, a aorporation sole, has been prepared and
submitted to this Colman et its regular meeting held on August 17, 1943, and
ordered filed with the Clerk of said City and marked "Filed August 17, 1943,
Loreme R. beatie, City Clerk of Alameda," and this Council has fully considered
and is familiar with the terms thereof;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
as follows:
SECTION 1. That the form of lease referred to in the preamble hereof
and the terms, covenants, agreements and provisions thereof be, and the same are
hereby, approved,
SECTION 2. That the lands hereinbefore and in said form of lease de-
scribed he, and the same are hereby, leased from The Roman Catholic Archbishop or
San Francisco, a corporation sole, for the period and rental and otherwise upon
the terms, covenants; agreements and provisions contained in said form of lease
submitted to this Council and filed and approved as aforesaid.
SECTION 3 The Mayor of the City cf Alameda is hereby authorized and
directed to execute, and the City Clerk to attest, as the act and deed cf the
City of Alameda, a lease substantially in the form and containing the terms,
covenants, agreements and provisions net forth in the aforesaid form of lease,

the underaigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council. of the City of Alameda
in regular meeting assembled on the 17th day of August, 1943, by the following
vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen. Bralischeid, Howe, 'Jones, Osborn and President
Godfrey, (5).
NOES, None.
