REQUESTING CANCELATIDN OF TAXES ON PROPERTY ACQUIRED
BY THE CITY OF ALAIEDA FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES.
WEEREAS, the parcels of real property situated in the City of Alameda,
County of Alameda, State of California, and particularly described as follows:
LOTS 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14, in Block
22, and the north 30 feet of Clay Street, asEbandoned, lying
between the northwest line of Fountain Street and the southeast
line of Court Street, being a portion of said Block 22, as said
lots, block and streets are delineated and so designated upon
that certain map entitled "Map of Alameda, Surveyed and drawn
by J. T. Stratton, 1853," filed in Book 6 of Maps, page 1, in
the office of the County Recorder of Alameda County:
have been assessed heretofore for county purposes for the fiscal year 1943-1944
and prior years and the taxes levied thereon are uncollected and unpaid; and
WHEREAS, after the time said assessments and taxes became a lien on
said parcels of real property, to wit, on October 5, 1943, the said parcels of
real property were acquired for municipal purposes by the City of Alameda, a
municipal corporation, by a certain deed of grant recorded. October 5, 1943 in
the office of the County Recorder of said Alameda County, under Recorder's
Series QQ51173; and
WHEREAS, ever since the said 5th day of October, 1943, the said par-
cels of real property have been, and now are, owned by said City of Alameda, and
have been and now are being used for public purposes, and because of such public
ownership said real property is not subject to sale for delinquent taxes;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Alameda be, and it is hereby, re-
quested to make its order, and to take such further proceedings as may be neces-
sary, to cause all uncollected taxes, assessments, penalties or costs charged
or levied for county purposes upon the aforesaid parcels of real property to be
canceled; and that a record of such cancelation be made by the officer or offi-
cers having custody of the record thereof, in accordance with the provisions of
Section 4986 of the Revenue and Taxation Code of the State of California.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
in regular meeting assembled on the 16th day of November, 1943, by the following
vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Branscheid, Howe, Jones, Osborn and President
Godfrey, (5),
NOES: None,
ABSENT; None.
