Resolution 02932RESOLUTION NC. 2932 CANCELING CITY TAXES ON PROPERTY ACQUIRED BY THE CITY OP ALAMEDA FOR MUNIGIPAL PURPOSES. WHREAS, the following described real property, situated in the City of Alameda, County of Alameda, State of California, to wit: LOTS 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14, in Block 22, and the north 30 feet of Clay Street, as abandoned, lying between the northwest line of Fountain Street and the southeast line of Court Street, being a portion of said Block 22, as said lots, block and streets are delineated and so designated upon that certain map entitled "Map of Alameda, Surveyed and drawn by J. T. Stratton, 1853," filed in Book 6 of Maps, page 1, in the office of the County Recorder of Alameda County, has been assessed heretofore for city purposes for the fiscal year 1943-1944 and the taxes levied thereon in the sum of 53.30 are uncollected and unpaid; and WHEREAS, after the time said taxes became a lien on said real property, to wit on October 5, 1943, said real property was, by deed recorded in the office of the County Recorder of Alameda County on October 5, 1943, under Recorder's Series QQ 51173, acquired, and ever since has been, and now is, owned by the City of Alameda, and has been and now is being used for public purposes, andbecause of such public ownership is not subject to sale for delinquent taxes; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL CF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA, with the written consent of the City Attorney attached hereto, that all uncol- lected taxes charged or levied for city purposes upon the aforesaid real property, together with penalties and costs thereon, be, and the sane are hereby, canceled, and the Auditor and Tax Collector of the City of Alameda are hereby authorized and directed to cancel the same on their respective books. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, anything in this resolution to the contrary notwithstanding, that this resolution and order shall not be construed as can- celing, or authorizing the cancelation of, any special assessment taxes levied against said real property by the City of Alameda pursuant to the provisions of the "Acquisition and Improvement Act of 1925." Albert George, City Attorney for the City of Alameda, State of California, do hereby consent to the cancelation of any and all uncollected taxes and assessments or penalties and costs thereon, charged or levied for city pur- poses upon the parcels of real property described in the within resolution.
