Resolution 02969RESOLUTION NO. 2969 ADOPTING SPECIFICATIONS AND PROVISIONS FOR RESURFACING TENNIS COURTS AT FRANKLIN PARK, FERNSIDE BOULEVARD AND LONGFELLCW PARK; CALLING FOR BIDS AND DIRECTING CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE SAME. WHEREAS, public interest and necessity neoeaaity require the following public work to be done: The resurfacing of two (2) Tennis Courts at Franklin Park, City of Alameda, California; The resurfacing of two (2) Tennis Courts at Fernside Boulevard, City of Alameda, California; The resurfacing of one (1) Tennis Court at Longfellow Park, City of Alameda, California; and WHEREAS, the City Engineer has prepared specifications and provisions for saici public work, which specifications and provisions, numbered PW 4-441, were filed in the office of the City Clerk of said city on May 2, 1944; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that the aforesaid specifications and provisions, No. PW 4-L41, filed in the of- fice of the City Clerk of the City of Alameda on May 2, 1944, be, and the same are hereby, approved and adopted. RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the performance and completion of the work specified in said specifications and provisions be, and the same is hereby, authorized, RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the Council of the City 01 Alameda will - ceive sealed bids up to the hour of 8:05 o'clock, p. m., on the 17th day of May, 1944, for the furnishing to the City of Alameda of all labor, material and equip- ment necessary for the said public work in accordance with said specifications and provisions. Bids must be presented to the City Clerk, in the City Hall, in Alameda, California, under sealed cover and plainly marked on the outside "Pro- posal for Resurfacing Tennis Courts". Contract, if awarded, will be awarded, subject to the provisions of the charter of said City, to the responsible bidder who submits the lowest and best bid. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids. Said specifications and provisions may be had by any prospective bid- der on application to the City Engineer, at his office in the City Hall, Alameda, California, upon debosit of $10.00. Said specifications and provisions shall be returned in good condition to the office of said City Engineer not later than 10 days after the date upon which the bids are opened, and upon return of said plans and specifications said deposit will be refunded. If plans and specifications are not returned to the office of the City Engineer within the time above speci- fied, or are returned in a mutilated or damaged condition, the said deposit shall be retained by the city of Alameda as agreed and liquidated damages for said mutilation or detention. The City Clerk is hereby directed to advertise, in the Alameda Times- Stan, a notice calling for sealed bids in accordance with the provisions of this resolution and of said specifications and provisions. * * * * e * * * * 1, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 2nd day of May, 1944, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Branscheid, Howe, Jones, Osborn and President Godfrey, (5).
