RESOLUTION NO. 2980
AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO MACKE APPLICATION TO STATE
DIRECTOR OF FINANCE ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
FOR STATE ASSISTANCE IN THE MAINTENANCE OF .11E CIVI-
LIAN DEFENSE WAR SERVICES OFFICE PERSONNEL IN THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA.
BE IT RESOLVED BY TUE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA as follows:
(1) That under provisions of Chapter 805, Statutes of 1943, Don. C.
McMillan, City Manager of the City of Alameda, 10 hereby authorized and em-
powered and directed to execute, in the name and on behalf of the City of Ala-
meda, all applications, forms and documents which may be required by the State
Director of Finance for the purpose of application for State aid under said
chapter;
(21 That said Don. C. McMillan is hereby named as representative of
the City of Alameda to negotiate an agreement with the State Director of Finance
coveria the terms and conditions under which the amount of State aid. will be
granted;
(3) The City of Alameda herewith requests that the sum of Twelve
Hundred. and Fifty-One Dollars and twenty-five cents ($1,251.25), in addition to
any amount heretofore allocated to the City of Alameda for civilian defense pur-
poses under said chapter, be made available by the State Director of Finance for
Inc complete maintenance of Civilian Defense War Services Office Personnel in
the City of Alameda. The sum of Twelve Hundred and Fifty-One Dollars and twenty-
five cents (4,251.25) has been budgeted and made available by the City of Ala-
meda exclusively from City funds as a matching fund for the complete maintenance
of the Civilian Defense War Services Office Personnel for the tern' beginning
June 1, 1943 and ending June 30, 1944;
(4) The maintenance of the Civilian Defense War Services Office Per-
sonnel is essential for the adequate handling of the War Services Program for
Inc City of Alameda.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the forekgoing Resoloaich was
duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
in regular meeting assembled on the 17th day of May, 1944, by the following vote,
