Resolution 03110RESOLUTION NO. 3110 DECLARING RESULT OF GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION 1111 IN THE CITY' OF ALAMEDA ON MARCH: 13, 1945. WHEREAS, A General Municipal Election was held in the City of Alameda OR Tuesday, March 13, 1945, under and pursuant to the provisions of Article XIX of the Charter of said City, for the purpose of electing officers to fill the office of Councilman, Auditor and Treasurer, for terms as follows: Three (3) Councilmen on the Council of said City, for three (3) full terms, each term commencing at 8:00 oTclock P. M., on the third Tuesday in April, 1945, and continuing for four (4) years thereafter and until a successor is elected and qualified; One (1) Auditor, to fill the office for a term beginning at 8:00 o'clock P. M., on the third Tuesday in April, 1945, and continuing for four years thereafter and until a successor is elected and qualified; One (1) Tureasurer, to fill the office for a term beginning at 8:00 P. Y., on the third Tuesday in Aril, 1945, and con- tinuing for four years thereafter and until a successor Is elected and qualified; and WHEREAS, nominating petitions were duly and regularly presented to, and filed. in the office of, the City Clerk of the City of Alameda, in the time, form and manner prescribed by the Charter of said City, nominating for said offices the following persons, to wit: FOR THE OFFICE OF COUNCILMAN W. T. Branscheid Frank P. Osborn Frank F. Burke Albert G. Burns Leo King Stanley Miller Leland W. Sweeney FOR THE OFFICE OF AUDITOR Fred T. Croll FOR 100 OFFICE OF TREASURER Horner R. Dallas and WHEREAS, said nominations were entered in a list, with the offices to be filled, which list was certified to and filed in the time, form and manner required by said Charter, whereupon an election proclamation signed by the Mayor of the City of Alameda and attested by the City Clerk and containing a statement of the time of the election, the offices to be filled and the names of the can- didates to be voted on, as the same were by the Council of the City of Alameda ordered to be printed and appear on the ballot, was duly and regularly issued more than 10 days before said election and was published twice in the official newspaper of said City, the last publication thereof being more than 5 days before the date of said election; and WHEREAS, there ware 115 election precincts within the City of Alameda fixed and established by resolution of the Council of said City and designated and numbered consecutively from No. 1 to No. 105, inclusive - also No. 106, con- solidating precincts Nos. 106, 107 and 108; No. 109, consolidating precincts Nos. 109, 11.0 and 111; No. 3I2, consolidating precincts Inc. 112, 113, 114, 115 and. 116; 00. 117, consolidating precincts Nos. 117, 118 and 119; No. 120, consolidat- ing precincts Nos. 120 and 121; No. 122, consolidating precincts Nos. 122 and 123; No. 124, consolidating precincts Nos. 124 and 125 and No. 126, as the election precincts for holding the aforesaid General. Municipal Election of the City of Alameda; and WHEREAS, all of the ballots used for said election were prepared, as to form and contents, as prescribed by law, and a sample ballet was mniled to each. voter of the City of Alameda within the time and in the manner provided by law and such mailing was completed at least 10 whole days preceding the date of said election; and WHEREAS, the officers of election for said election were duly appointed and. qualified, and all election supplies furnished and election booths provided for each precinct as provided by law; and AFFREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda at this, its next regular meeting following said election, has met and fully canvassed the returns of the votes cast at said. General Municipal Election. as required by low, and being fully advised in the premises, and having the returns of said canvass before it, NOW', THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, DETERMINED AND DECLARED BY THE COUNCIL OF `Pia] CITY OF ALADEDA and-said-Council finds, as follows: (1) That said General Municipal Election was held and conducted, and the votes cast thereat received and canvassed, and the returns thereof ascer- tained, determined and declared, in all respects and particulars in the time, form and manner provided by law. Sweeney - - - 5,455 (5) That the total number of votes cast in the City of Alameda at said election for each of the aforesaid candidates for the offices of Auditor and Treasurer 0f. said City was as follows: Fred J. Croll - - 6,853 Homer R. Dallas - - 6,822 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, DETERMINED AND DECLARED that the afore- said W. 2. Branschei d, Frank P. Osborn and Leland W. Sweeney, having received the three highest numbers or votes cast for the office of Councilman, were, and are hereby declared to be, duly and regularly elected to the office of Councilman and as members of the Council of the City of Alameda, each for a term beginning at 8:00 p. M., on the third Tuesday in April, 1945, . and continuing for four (4) years and until a successor is elected and qualified; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND DECLARED that the aforesaid Fred J. Croll and Homer R. Dallas, having each received the highest number cf votes cast for the offices of Auditor and Treasurer, respectively, were, and they are hereby declared to be, duly and regularly elected to the offices of Auditor and Trea- surer, respectively, of the City of Alameda for terms beginning at 8:00 P. m. on the third Tuesday in April, 1945, . and continuing for four (4) years there,. after and until a successor is elected and qualified. 1, the undersigned, hereby certify that the forogoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled en the 20th day of March, 1945, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Branscheid, Tones, Osborn and President Godfrey, NOES: None, ABSENT: Councilman Howe, (1.
