AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION BY THE CITY OF
ALAMEDA WITH THE FEDERAL WORKS ADMINISTRATION FOR SEWER
PLANNING FUNDS.
WHEREAS, under the terms of the War Mobilization and Reconversion Act
of 1944, Title V Thereof, Federal funds have been made available to cities, on
a loan basis, for the purpose of financing the preparation of plans for public
works; and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda has been informed by the
City Manager of the urgent need for a comprehensive sewer_construction and re-
vision program within the City and a necessity for the preparation of plans
covering such program;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Manager be, and he is
hereby, authorized and directed to file with the Bureau of Community Facilities
of the Federal Works Agency, the application of the City of Alameda for a loan
of Federal funds for the purpose of planning the sewer program of the City of
Alameda, such loan to be in the amount determined by the City Manager as suffi-
cient for the purpose.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
duly and regularly 'introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
in regular meeting assembled on the 5th day of Tune, 1945, by the following vote,
to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Howe, Jones, Osborn, Sweeney and President
Branscheid, (5).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None,
