AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO MAKE APPLICATION TO STATE
DIRECTOR OF FINANCE ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
FOR STATE ASSISTANCE IN THE MAINTENANCE OF THE CIVILIAN
DEFENSE WAR SERVICES OFFICE PERSONNEL TN THE CITY OF
ALAMEDA.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA as fol
(1) That under provisions of Chapter 805, Statutes of 1943, Don. C.
McMillan, City Manager of the City of Alameda, is hereby authorized and empowered
and directed to execute, in the name and on behalf of the City of Alameda, all
applications, forms and documents which may be required by the State Director of
Finance for the purpose of application for State aid under said chapter;
(2) That said Don C. McMillan is hereby named as representative of the
City of Alameda to negotiate an agreement with the State Director of Finance
covering the terms and conditions under which the amount of State aid will be
granted;
(3) The City of Alameda herewith requests that the sum of Seven hundred
and Eighty Dollars ($780.00), in addition to any amount heretofore allocated to
the City of Alameda for civilian defense purposes under said chapter, be made
available by the State Director of Finance for the complete maintenance of Civi-
lian Defense War Services Office Personnel in the City of Alameda. The sum of
Seven Hundred and Eighty Dollars ($780.00) has been budgeted and made available
by the City of Alameda exclusively from City funds as a matching fund for the
complete maintenance of the Civilian Defense War Services Office Personnel for
the term beginning July 1, 1944 and ending June 30, 1945;
(4) The maintenance of the Civilian Defense War Services Office Per-
sonnel is essential for the adequate handling of the War Services Program for
the City of Alameda.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
in regular meeting assembled on the 5th day of June, 1945, by the following
vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen I -Iowe, Jones, Osborn, Sweeney and President
Branscheid, (5).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
