AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF MEMORANDUM OF COOPERATIVE
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF ALAMEDA AND PUBLIC ROADS
ADMINISTRATION, FEDERAL WORKS AGENCY, REGARDING IMPROVE-
MENT WORK ON MAIN STREET UNDER CALIFORNIA PROJECT DA -NR
7:(1) Unit 3,
WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 6 of the "Defense Highway Act
of 1941" the Secretary of the Navy has certified to the Federal Works Administra-
tor that the construction of an access road to the Alameda Naval Air Station,
known as Main Street and extending from Pacific Avenue to said Air Base Reserva-
tion boundary, designated by the Public Roads Administration as Project DA -NR
73(1), is important to national defense and that said road is eligible for allo-
cation of funds from said "Defense Highway Act of 1941 "; and
WHEREAS, a form of memorandum of cooperative agreement between the City
of Alameda, State of California, and the Public Roads Administration, Federal
Works Agency, covering Unit 3 of Project DA -NR 73(1) hereinabove referred to, has
been prepared and read to this Council at this meeting and ordered filed with the
City Clerk, marked filed June 5, 1945, which form of agreement is by reference
incorporated herein and made a part hereof; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest that the improvement hereinabove
referred to be made;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
that the form of cooperative agreement between the City of Alameda, State of
California and the Public Roads Administration, Federal Works Agency, hereinabove
referred to, be, and the same is hereby, approved.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the Mayor of the City of Alameda be, and he is
hereby, authorized and directed to execute, and the City Clerk to attest, on
behalf of the City of Alameda, a memorandum of cooperative agreement with the
Public Roads Administration, Federal Works Agency, substantially in the form and
containing the covenants, agreements and provisions set forth in the aforesaid
form of agreement.

in regular meeting assembled an the 5th day of June, 1945, by the following
