RESOLUTION NO. 3170
ADOPTING SPECIFICATIONS, SPECIAL PROVISIONS AND PLANS
FOR RESURFACING GIBBONS DRIVE.
WHEREAS, public interest and necessity require the resurfacing of
Gibbons Drive from Central Avenue to High Street with asphalt concrete, removal
and reconstructing portions of concrete curb and curb returns, removal of por-
tions of concrete gutter and paving same with asphalt concrete, and incidental
work pertaining thereto; and
'WHEREAS, the City Engineer haa prepared Specifications, Special Pro-
vinicra and Plana for said work, which Specifications and Provisions are num-
bered PW 6-45-4 end were filed in the office of the City Clerk of said City on
June 26,154,5:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY 1911 COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
that the aforesaid Specifications, Special Provisions and Plans, numbered and
filed es aforesaid, be, and the same are hereby, approved and adopted.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the performance and completion of the work
specified in said Specifications and Provisions be, and the same is hereby,
authorized.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the Council. of the City of Alameda will re-
ceive sealed bids up to the hour of 8:05 o'clock P. F., on Tuesday, July 3,
1945, for the furnishing to the City of Alameda of all labor, materials, methods
and processes, implements, tools and machinery, except as otherwise specified,
necessary for the work hereinaboye referred to, in accordance with said Specifi-
cations and Provisions. Bits must be presented to the City Clerk, in the City
Hall, in Alameda, California, under sealed cover and plainly marked on the out-
side "Proposal for Gibbons Drive," or similar designation.
Contract, if awarded, will be awarded, subject to the provisions of
the charter of said City, to the responsible bidder who submits the lowest and
best bid. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids.
Said Specifications and Provisions may be BaO by any prospective bid-
Oar on application to the City Engineer, at his office in the City Hall, Alameda,
California.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to advertise, in the Alameda Times-
Star, a notice calling for sealed bits in accordance with the provisions of this
resolution and of said Specifications and Provisions.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution. was
duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
in adjourned regular meeting assembled on the 2bth day of June, 1945, by the
following vote, to wit;
AYES: Councilmen Howe, Jones, Osborn, Sweeney and President
Brahscheid, (5).
