RESOLUTION NO. 3232
AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO MAKE APPLICATION TO STATE
DIRECTOR OF FINANCE ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
FOR STATE ASSISTANCE IN DEFRAYING COST CF PLANS FOR
RECONSTRUCTION OF LINCOLN PARK. (PROTECT NC. 47-8).
WHEREAS, the State of California, under chapter 47, statutes of 1944,
(4th Estra Session) has appropriated funds for allotment by the Director of
Finance to provide financial assistance to Local Agencies defined therein as
counties, cities or cities and counties for the purpose of defraying not to
exceed one-half the cost of preparing engineering field surveys, engineering
or architectural designs, and working and detailed drawings and specifications
(hereinafter called "Plans") required for postwar publio works projects de-
scribed as "specific projects" in said Act; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda desires to apply to the Director of
Finance and/or the Post War Public Works Review Board, as the case may be, for
an allotment of the State's share of the estimated cost of preparing the com-
pleted plans hereinafter mentioned, and there has been prepared and presented
to this Legislative Body for consideration an application for such purpose; and
WdEREAS, said City has provided, or will make available upon approval
of the aforementioned application, sufficient funds to prepare the completed
plans herein mentioned;
NOW THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED, that aid City submit the aforesaid
application to the Director of Finance and/or the Post War Public Works Review
Board, as the case may be, requesting allotment of Twenty-seven Hundred Eighty-
five (t2785) Dollars, being not more than one-half the cost of preparing said
completed plans, or for such amount as may be approved by the Director of
Finance and/or the Post War Public Works Review Board, (said allotment to be
used for the purpose of defraying the cost of preparing said completed plans
required) for a specific project to be undertaken by said City and described
as Project Ne. 47-8 -- Reconstruction of Lincoln Park.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the estimated cost of preparing such
plans is Fifty-five Hundred Seventy (5570.) Dollars, and that said City has
made provision for paying one-half or more of the cost of preparing such plans;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that for the purposes of this application,
Don C. McMillan, City Manager of the City of Alameda, be, and he hereby is,
designated as the authorized agent of said City and is hereby authorized and
directed to sign the above mentioned application on behalf of said City and
submit the same to the Director of Finance and/or the Post War Public Works
Review Board together with a certified statement of the estimated cost of pre-
paring such plans and such other information as may be required; and said
authorized agent is further authorized and directed, as the representative of
said City, to conduct all negotiations and conclude all arrangements, including
submission to the Director of Finance of applications for reimbursement, which
may be necessary to secure reimbursement for the State's share of the expendi-
ture made in preparing said completed plans.

in regular meeting assembled on the 2nd day of October, 194,5, by the following
vote, tc wit:
AYES: Councilmen Rowe, Jones, Osborn, Sweeney and President
Branscheid, (5).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
