RESOLUTION NO. 3238
ADOPTING SPECIFICATIONS, SPECIAL PROVISIONS AND PLANS
FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A STORM WATER PUMPING PLANT
AT THE FOOT OF GRAND STREET, CALLING FOR BIDS, AND
DIRECTING, THE CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE SAME.
WHEREAS, public interest and necessity require the installation of a
storm water Pumping Plant at the foot of Grand Street, including suction and
discharge lines, housing for the plant, a flap gate for the existing outfall,
and all incidental work pertaining to the same; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has prepared Specifications, Special Provi-
sions and Plans for said work, wnich Specifications and Provisions are numbered
PW 10-45-5, and were filed in the office of the City Clerk of said City on
October 2, 1945;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
that the aforesaid Specifications, Special Provisions and Plans, numbered and
filed as aforesaid, be, and the same are hereby, approved and adopted.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the performance and completion of the work
specified in said Specifications and Provisions be, and the same is hereby,
authorized;
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the Council of the City of Alameda will re-
ceive sealed bids up to the hour of 5:05 o'clock, P. M., on Tuesday, October 16,
1945, . for the furnishing to the City of Alameda of all labor, materiels, methods
and processes, implements, tools and machinery, except as otherwise specified,
necessary for the work hereinabove referred to, in accordance with said Specifi-
cations and Provisions. Bide must be presented to the City Clerk, in the City
Fall, in Alameda, California, under sealed cover and plainly marked on the outside
'Proposal for Installation of a storm Water Pumping Plant," or similar designation.
Contract, if awarded, will be awarded, subject to the provisions of the
charter of said City, to the responsible bidder who submits the lowest and best
bid. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids.
Said Specifications and Provisions may be had by any prospective bidder
on application to the City Engineer, at his office in the City Hall, Alameda,
California.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to advertise, in the Alameda Times-
Star, a notice calling for sealed bids in accordance with the provisions of this
resolution and of said Specifications and Provisions.

1, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
in regular meeting assembled on the 2nd day of October, 1945, by the following
vote, to alt:
AYES: Councilmen Howe, Jones, Osborn, Sweeney and President
Eranscheid, (5).
NOES: None,
ABSENT: None.
