ADOPTING SPECIFICATIONS, 1 STECILI, PROVISIONS ISM PLANS
FOR TEE RECONSTRUCTION OF FNCINAL AVENUE ADD IMPROVE-
MENT OF OTHER STPEETS, CALLING FOR BIDS, AND DIRECTING
THE CIT' CLERK TO ADVERTISE SAME.
WEEREAS, public interest and necessity require the reconstruction of
Hacinal Avenue from Sherman Street to Oak Street, the construction of standard
nart circle reinforced concrete culverts, reconstruction of portions of exist-
ing sewer mains ani . laterals, reconstruction of portions of exEsting concrete
curbs, gutters, sidewalks and approachos, and aul work appurtenant thereto; and
the Emprovement of various other streets, includinF, the construction. of concrete
cult returns, construction of catch basins, outlet ditches and the installation
of 18-inch reinforced concrete stori . drain, and all incidental work pertaining
thereto; and
WILEREAS, the City. Engineer has prepared Snecifications, Special P2OVi
sions and Plans for said worS, which Specifications and Provisions are num:Pored
PW 3-4E-2, and were filed in the office of the City Clerk of said City or March
19, 194t;

that the aforesaid Specifioations, Special Provisions and Plans, numbered and
filed as aforesaid, be, and the same are hereby, approved and adopted,
RESOLIECD FURTEPAR., that the performance and completion of the work
specified in said Specifications and Provisions ho, and the same is hereby,
authorized.
RESOLVED MESSIER, that the Council of the City of Alameda will receive
sealed bidr up to the our of 8:05 o'clock, P. M., on Tuesday, April 2, 1946, for
the furnishing to the City. of Alameda of all labor, materials, methods and pro-
cesses, implements, tools and machinery, except as otherwise specified, necessary
for the work hareinabove referred to, in accordance with said Specifications and
Provisions. Bids must be presented to tne City Clerk, in the City Hall, in Ala-
meda, CaElfornia, under sealed cover and plainly marked on the oatside "Proposal
for the Reconstruction of Encinal Avenue and Improvement of Other Streets," or
similar dnoinnation.
Contract, if awarded, will be warded, subject to the provisions of
the Charter of said City, to the responsible bidder who submits the lowest and
best bid. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids.
Said Specifications and Provisions may be had by any prospective bidder
on application to the City Engineer, at his office in the City Hall, Alameda,
California.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to advertise, in the Alameda Tiln*CS-
star, a notice calling for sealed bids in accordance with the provisions of this
Resolution and of said Specifications and Provisions.
