Resolution 03311RESOLUTION NO. 3311 AUTHORIZING HOUSING, AUTHORITY OF THE CITY CF AIANEDA TO MAKE APPLICATION TO STATE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE FOR STATE AID IN ACQUIRING AND ESTABLISHING TEMPORARY HOUSING FACILITIES FOR VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILTES AND FAMILIES OF SERVICE MEN. W7EREAS, the State of California, under Chapter 29, Statutes of 1946, (1st Extra Session) has appropriated funds for allocation by the Director of Finance to local agencies defined therein as a county, city and county, city, local housing authority or district of the State for the purpose of acquiring and establishing temporary and emergency housing facilities for veterans and their families and families of service men to the extent that federal aid is not available; and WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of Alameda, hereinafter designated as "Local Agency," is negotiating or has entered into an agreement with the National Housing Administrator for the purpose of making available to Local Agency certain housing facilities, and Local Agency desires to file an application with the Director of Finance under said Act for an allocation of the State's share of the estimated non-federal cost of making said temporary housing facilities ready for occupancy, and an application for said purpose has been prepared and submitted to this legislative body for consideration; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that Local Agency submit the aforesaid application to the Director of Finance requesting an allocation under said Act of sixty-eight thousand four hundred (t68,400.) Dollars, or such amount thereof as may be allocated by the Director of Finance, as the State's share of not exceeding ninety per cent (901„) of the estimated non-federal cost of making said temporary housing facilities reedy for occupancy; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the total estimated non-federal cost of making said housing facilities ready for occupancy is seventy-six thousand ($76,000.) Dollars, and that Local Agency has made provisions as set forth in said application for paying not less than ten per cent (101.) of such estimated non-federal cost; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that for the purposes of said application, T. A. Greig, Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, 511 Buena Vista Avenue, Alameda, California, be, and he is hereby, designated as the "Authorized Agent" of Local Agency and is hereby authorized and directed to sign said application on behalf of Local Agency and submit the same to the Director of Finance to- gether with a certified detailed statement of the estimated non-federal cost of making said housing facilities ready for occupancy and such other information as may be required; and said Authorized Agent is further directed, as the represen- tative of Local Agency, to conduct all negotiations, conclude all arrangements and sign agreements, including submission to the Director of Finance of claims for payments, which may be necessary to secure payment of the State's share of said non-federal cost. * * * e * * * * * I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced. and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 21st day of May, 1946, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Howe, Jones, Osborn, Sweeney and President Branscheid, (5).
