OK IHE CITY OF ALAMEDA an follows: (1) Any officer or embloyee of the City whe shall, under thee authority of law and, exnent for routine duties, or autnorization of 10' Cloonan, loave the City for the 'purpose of performing any official duty or rendering any aervice for or en behalf of the City, or for the purpose. cf officially representing said City or any board, commission or department thereof, shall be allowed the traveling expenses' incitent to said service, which traveling expenses shall include the actual cost of transportation, imcluding PoIlmam charges, plus a. per diem allowanee in an amount not to exceed $12.30 per day for each and every day while said officer or employee 13 absent on said official business; (2) Demands for payment of traveling e13 pens0o for whien crier authori- zation 03 the Council is required shall not exceed the umount appropriated or authorized by thb Chnoncil; (3) Performance. of duties or cervices fcr or on behalf o, the City, to be herforaed outside of the City in connection with routine duties, need not rave boon creviouply authorized. by the Council; however, traveling expenses incurred in connection with the berfcrmance of such routine duties or sorviceo shall be allowed only when. ouch Performance was authorised or approved by thb head of the department or office ir . which the officer or emdloyee manning demand therefor is employed.
