MEMORIALIZING THE CALIFORNIA STATE RICHWAM COMMlSSION
IN THE MATTER OF ITS APPROVAL AND ADOPTION OF MBE
RECOMMENDATIONS 13 THE ALAMEDA COUNTY HIGEWAY ADVISORY'
COMMITTEE FOR IRE PROJECT YEAR 1955-1556
WHEREAS, the Alameda County Highway Advisory Committee has completed its
study of and adopted a mrogmam for the improvement and developmnnt of the State
Highway System in. Alameda County for fiscal. year 1955-1957:Rand has presented. said.
program to the Coumeil of the City lof Alameda for approval; and.
WHEREAS, said Council has rovie).red said. program, is faniliar therewith.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BI) THE COUNCIL OF THE criT OF ALLEEOA that
the California State Highway Commission be, and it is hhreby respectfully requestnd
to adopt the recommendatiuns of the Alameda County Highway Advisory .Committee and
provide for carrying out the program. submittmd in the Commimsion,s budget for fiscal..
year 1955-1956; and
BE IT 1(13,13131 17 RESOLVED that the California State Highway Commission be,
and it is further respectfully requested, in its consideration of that portion of
said. progra0 . embracing construction of a second estuary tube 3' '0 the cities of
Alameda. and Oakland, to find that construction of said second tube, the lack of
which, according to tho records of thn State Division of Highways, constitutes the
most critical deficiency in the entire State Highway.' System, is a mattor of. great
urgency, and, to further find that said 1955-1956 Bunget shall incorporagnan
appropriation for the Immediate 0013 7113 of said second tube out of 'construction
moneys of the State Dittsion of Highways; and.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the California State Hlghway Commission be,
n1 . it is 13' respectfully requested, in its consideration of the matter of
said second estuary tube, if it be found not feamilble to appropriate a sufficient
amount of conatructinn moneys to construct said critically needed improvement in
its entirety, to make provision. in the CommissionMs 1955-1956 Budget for acquisition
of the riyhts-of-way necessary to the construction. of said. second tube,
