Resolution 05102RESOLUTION NO. 5102 IN MEMOBIAN TO JCT-N M. 0"BEA. WITH HEARTFELT SORROW, the Council of the City of Alameda records the death of one of its most loyal and civic-minded citizens, JOHN N. O'DEA, member of the Public Utilities Board of the City of Alameda. WHEREAS, Mr. O'Dea was held in high esteem ty his fellow associates, both in his private-business life and in his connection with the Bureau of Electricity because of his unquestioned integrity, his prompt acceptance of his responsibilities and his competent leadership; and WEIFREAS, his constancy in serving the City was remarkable in that his long tenure of office covered a period of twenty-two years, beginning with his appointment on August 1, 1933, which established him as the senior member of this important Board in years of service. Recognition had been given his proficiency in the fact that he had been elected to officiate as President of the Board during six different years. His attendance record at the hoard meetings was most impress- ive and he was ever cognizant of the significance of the work of the Board in its financial benefit to the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that, in acknowledgement of his forth- right enterprise in the performance of his duties as a member of the Public Utilities Board of the City of Alameda, the Council of the City of Alameda hereby expresses its sense of personal loss and its obligation to Mr. O'Dea for his wholehearted efforts in so capably promoting the best interests of the City. BE IT BUFTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread in full upon the minutes of this meeting, and a copy thereof be forwarded to the family of Mr. O'Dea, that it may extend to its members a sincere expression of sympathy and condolence in their bereavement; and. DE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that when this meeting of the Council of the City of Alameda adjourns, it shall do so in respect to the memory of JOHN M.
