AMENDING SUBSECTION 6 OF PARAGRAPH 2, SECTION 2, OF
RESOLUTION NO. 4945, RELATING TO PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT
WHEREAS, subsection 9 cf paragraph 2, Section. 2, of Resolution Mc. 49)15
(First Aid) provides for 4 positions of Emergency Surgeon (Part-Time), the salary
for which positions is fixed at A150.00 per month by Range la, subsection a of para-
graph 2, Section 2 of said Resolutlon No. 4945; and
WHEREAS, the purpose behind the creation of 4 part-time positions of
Emergency Surgeon was to permit the division of each month into four parts with
each of the four persons so employed standing by for one of said periods, thus
offering a minimum of interference with the regular practice of said doctors; and
WHEREAS, one of said positions of Emergency Surgeon (Part-time) is now
vacant and some difficulty is being experienced in filling same, and such vacancy
will make it necessary that the remaining three Emergency Surgeons serve for an addi-
tional period of time each month in order that medical service be available at all
times at the First Aid Station;
NOW THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that
subsection 6 of paragraph 2, Section 2, of Resolution No. 4945 be, and the same is
hereby amended by adding thereto a new subsection tc be known ns subsection 6 (a),
which shall read as follows:
6 (a). In the matter of the compensation of Emergency Surgeons
(Part-Time) employed in the City's First Aid Station; in the event
any of the 4 positions in such classification shall become vacant, the
remaining Emergency Surgeons who shall serve more than one week in
each. four-week period shall receive additional compensation for such
services at the rate of $150.00 per week of seven (7) days.
