RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OE ALANSDA
ENDORSING AND URGING FULL SUPPORT OF A DOOR-TO-DOOR
VOTER REGISTRATION DRIVE WTTHIN THE COUNTY OF ALAMEDA.
WHEREAS, the County of Alameda. is inaugurating a program for door-to-door
registration of voters threhout the County of Alameda; and
WHEREAS, one of the basic cornerstones of a democracy 12 an active and
interested electorate; and
WHEREAS, the registration of the potential voters of an area is the first
and an important step toward the establishment of an active and interested electorate;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that
tne said Council fully and completely endorses a door-to-door drive for the regis-
tration of voters throughJout the County of Alameda and particularly urges the citi-
zens of the City of Alameda to actively support, cooperate with and encourage such
door-to-door voter registration drive.
3E IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City f Alameda imme-
diately transmit to the County Clerk cf the County of Alameda a duly certified copy
of this resolution.
