Resolution 05830RESOLUTION NO. 5830 AUTHORIZING CITY MANAGER TO AGREE TO AND ACCEPT CONDITIONS MENTIONED IN LETTER FROM PORT OF OAKLAND REGARDING EMERGENCY EXIT OVER PORT OF OAKLAND'S PROPERTY ON BAY FARM ISLAND. WHEREAS, the City of Alameda proposes to install a locked chain link type of fence and gate approximately 300 feet south. of Fitchburg Avenue, and to develop an emergency exit route, on Bay Farm Island, and by letter to the Port of Oakland, dated May 7, 1958, advised said Port of Oakland of its Jntention, and requested the Port's cooperation in said installation and in the development of said emergency exit route; and WHEREAS, in response to the City's letter, the Port of Oakland has presented to the City of Alameda, for signature, a letter dated May 22, 1958, setting forth cer- tain conditions holding harmless the City of Oakland and its Board of Port Commissioners from all liability relative to the emergency exit over property of the City of Oakland on Bay Farm Island; and WHEREAS, this Council is familiar with the contents of said letter; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized to sign said letter dated May 22, 1950, on behalf of th.e City of Alameda, agreeing to and accepting the conditions set forth therein, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to attest to the same. * * * * * * * * * I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council. of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 5th day of August, 1958, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Colilschonn, Schacht and Vice President Petersen, (3).
