WaTH GREAT SORROW, the Council of the City of Alameda records the death of
one of its former employees, 'Mr. WILLIAM R. FRANCIS, whh, at the time of his retire-
ment, woe employed. as a. Carperter-Foreman in the Street Debertment. Yr. Francis had
started. his eniploNment with the City December 8, 19E8, and had retiired. October 1,
1953.
WHRTEAS, MX. Francis had bhen a very efficient craftsman aon. had aixays
been nost diligent in performing the duties of h.i8 job;
OW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that, in recognation of his capable service
and his friendly rooppratin with . all of hia fellow workers, the Codnoll of thh City
of Alameda hereby expresses its sense of personal. loss and its gratitude for the
