CONSENT TO ASSIGNMENT OF LEASE TO TODD SHIPYARDS
CORPORATION, A NL0 YORK CORPORATION, OF REAL
PROPERTY HELD UNDER LEASE BY AND BETWEEN 001 CITY
OF ALAMEDA AND MATSON NAVIGATIDN COMPANY (TODD
SHIPYARDS - 12.961 ACRES).
WTEREAS, on the 1st day of September, 1946, a lease al certain real prop-
erty owned by the City of Alameda was entered into by and between the City of Alameda,
as Lessor, and United Engineering Company (now Matson Navigation Company), as Lessee,
and
WHEREAS, said Lease requires that the written consent of the Lessor be
first had and obtained prior to the assignment of said Lease to a third party; and
WHEREAS, the Matson Navigation Company has requested that the Council of
the City of Alameda consent to the assignment of said Lease to Todd Shipyards
Corporation, and Todd Shipyards Corporation has indicated to the Council of the
City of Alameda its desire'to accept such assignment; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the City of Alameda that such con-
sent be given:
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that
said City of Alameda does hereby consent to and approve the assignment of that CRT.-
taln Lease dated September 1, 194.6 by and between the City of Alameda, Lessor, and
United Engineering Company (now Matson Navigation Company), Lessee; said assignment
being from Matson Navigation Company to Todd Shipyards Corporation.
BE IT F(JT(THER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the City cf Alameda be, and he is
hereby, authorized to execute, for and on behalf of the City of Alameda, the written
consent of the City of Alameda to the assignment of said Lease es set out above. The
City Clerk of the City of Alameda is hereby directed to attest to same.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing (-esolution was duly
and regularly- introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regu-
lar meeting assembled on the 17th day of 0 E3bruary, 1959, by the following vote,
to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Collischonn, Freeman, Petersen, Schacht and
President McCall, (5).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
