REQUESTING CIVIL SERVICE BOARD OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
TO EXCEPT POSITION OF ASSISTANT CITY ATTORNEY FROM
THE CIVIL SERVICE SYSTEM OE THE CITY OF ALAMEDA.
WEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda has created, or will create,
a position of 'Assistant City Attorney"; and
WHEREAS, the said position of Assistant City Attorney is of a confidential
nature and it is impossible to determine fitness by competitive examination; and
WHEREAS, reasons of public policy and the best interests of the City of
Alameda require that said position of Assistant City Attorney be excepted from the
Civil Service System of the City of Alameda;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that
pursuant to Section 3 of Ordinance No. 642, New Series, entitled, An Ordinance
Establishing and Regulating the Civil Service System of the City of Alameda, adopted.
May 24, 1938, tae Council of the City of Alameda does hereby request the Civil
Service Board of the City of Alameda to except from the Civil Service System of the
City of Alameda the position of Assistant City Attorney, such exception to continue
until revoked by the Civil Service Board.

and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in
adjourned regular meeting assembled on the 7th day of October, 1959, by the follow-
ing vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Collischonn, Freeman, Petersen, Schacht and
President McCall, (5).
NOES: None
ABSENT: None.
