IN APPRECIATION AND COMMENDATION OF MR. GEORGE NELSON
FOR HIS SERVICES ON 'BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA.
1,1HEREAS, Mr. GEORGE NELSON has been a representative of the Press in the
City Hall of Alameda. for the past four year and is now about to embark upon a new
career in the field of Public Relations; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Nelson has not only exemplified proficiency and in grity in
carrying out the duties of his job but has been mindful of an understanding approach
in publicizing the City of Alameda through his reporting of all news events; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Nelson has engendered true friendship from all City officials
and employees with whom he has worked by his amiable personality and has earned the
respect of all his newspaper associates for his competence in the field of journalism.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Alameda
acknowledges with sincere commendation the excellent job done in accurately covering
the news items of his "beat" and its appreciation for his harmonious relations in
his association with City Hall personnel.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council extends to Mr. Nelson its
felicitations on his past endeavors and its best wishes for his great Success in his
newly chosen field and for his personal good health, mach happiness and prosperity
in the future.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk forward a copy of this resolu-
tion to Mx. Nelson as a token of good will from his many friends in Alameda.

lar meeting assembled on the 15th day of December, 1959, by the following vote,
