AUTHORIZING THE INVESTMENT OF SURPLUS FUNDS 00 UNITED
STATES TREASURY NOTES, BONDS, BILLS CR CERTIFICATES
OF INDEBTEDNESS OR THOSE FOR WHICH THE FAITH AND
CREDIT OF THE UNITED STATES ARE PLEDGED FOR PAYMENT
OF PRINCIPAL AND INTEREST.
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda has surplus money in its treasury not required
for the immediate necessities of the City of Alameda;
NOV, 'Ti EREFORE, BE IT RESDIVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that
the Treasurer of the City of Alameda is hereby authorized and directed to determine
what funds in tho treasury are surplus and not required for the Immediate necessities
of the City of Alameda; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Treasurer is further authorized and directed
to invest or reinvest such surplus funds in United States Treasury notes, bonds, bills
or certificates of indebtedness or those for which the faith and credit of the United
States are pledged for the payment of principal and interest; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed
to submit to the Council of the City of Alameda such reports of such transactions as
are required by State law.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly
and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regu-
lar meeting assembled. on the 15th day of December, 1959, by the following vote,
to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Collischonn, Freeman, Schacht and
President McCall, (4).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilman Petersen, (1).
