IN APPRECIATION AND COMMENDATION OF HOMER R. DALLAS,
RETIRING TREASURER, EX-OFFICIO TAX COLLECTOR, OF THE
CITY OF ALAMEDA.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA records with pride the thirty-six years
of service devoted by Mr. HOMER R. DALLAS as an employee and official of the City.
WHEREAS, Mr. Dallas was originally appointed in 192b. as Deputy Treasurer
and served in that capacity until the General Municipal Election of March, 1929, at
which time he was elected to the office of Treasurer, ex-officio Tax Collector, for
a four-year term, over a field of six candidates; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Dallas subsequently ran unopposed and was re-elected at four-
year intervals through the years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Alameda is
aware of the invaluable contribution made by Mr. Dallas through astute financial invest-
ments on behalf of the City and the great responsibility he assumed in all the monetary
transactions of his office; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Alameda acknowledges
with gratitude and resosot his sense of integrity, loyalty and ability in the excellent
performance of his duties; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Alameda and his City
Hall friends extend to Mr. Dallas their congratulations on his noteworthy record of
accomplishment and tenure of office and their best wishes for good health and much
happiness during his retirement.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly
and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regu-
lar meeting assembled on the 5th day of April, 1960, by the following vote, to it
AYES: Councilmen Collischonn, Freeman, Petersen, Schacht and
President. McCall, (5).
