MENIGREAM TO GRANT
JrE DEEP .1ORROW the Council of the City of Alameda records the dewth of
one of its former employees, GRAI1T HICKS, who served the City as Poundmoster from the
date of his employment on May 11, 1911, until March 17, 1920, from which date until
his retirement or July 1, 1939, he served as a Patrolman.
WHEB,EAG Officer Hicks was well-known end highly respected for his conscien-
tious and diligent pbrformance of his duties during his many years of employment in
ho' of these capacities: and
WHEREAS, Officer Hicks was outstanding in that he held Badge Number One in
the Police Department.
NOW, TEERETORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that, in recoghltion of his loyal service
to the community, the Council of the City of Alameda hereby expresses its sense of
personal less, and its sincere gratitude for having such a faithful and highly res-
pected employee.
BE 17 FURTHER liESOLVET that this Resolution be spread in full upon the
minutes of this meeting, aro thct e copy thereof he transmitted to the family of
Officer Hicks, that it may extenh to its members a sinperb expression of srmpathy
and condolence; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that when this meeting of the Council of the City
of Alamhda adjhurnb. it shall do so iu respect to the memory of GRANT HICKS.
