_AIRPORT TO MEET PUBLIC NEED.
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Oakland International Airport is '(33 '13 and accessible to thu
citizens residing uithin the cities of Alameda County; and
WHERASN this LArport. is cassialed ns an inteconminental Express Airport and is connected
math approximately 500 cities of the Onated. States and with 58 Foreign. countries by major airlines;
and
WIEREAS, the City of Oakland, the owners cE Rhis facility, and its managing ngend, the
Board of Fort Commissioners, have studied passenger traffic by origiu, destLnacion, and time of travel,
aud hAve found that large numbers of residents from Alameda County cannot always use their Airport
due to their inademnate flight schedules; aud
WHEREAS, a forma1 . application is to he filed beRore the Civil Aeronautics Board by Oakland
for an investigation of presemtly scheduled air transportation serviee at its Airport; and
WEREAS, on August 18, 1959, the City of Alameda din support applications then pending
before the l dem:mantles Board for better airline service.
NON, TNEREFORE, BE IT RESOIEED, aham the City of Alameda does support Chu application to
be filed by the City of Oakland before the Cival Aeronaut:its Board.
