RESCTUTION OF TPE COUNCIL O TEE CITY' OF ALAMEDA RELATING TO
APPOINTMENT OF COUNCIL MEMBERS IN THE EVENT OF VACANCIES
CAUHTA BY GREAT EMERGENCY OR DISASTER.
WHEREAS, it is dviemed to he in the best interests of the City of Alameda thaa orhvision
he made for appointment of Counhalman in the event of vacancies caused by great emergency or disaster,
and in the event that the terms of Section 2-7 of the Charter of the City of Alameda cannht be
lized to fill sohli vacancies;
NOT THEREFORE, BF IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF TUE CIIN OT ALAMEDA that in the event of
great disaster or emergency creating vacancies in the Council of the City of Alameda to which
appointments cannot he made unaer the terms of :Action 2-7 of the Charter of the City of Alameda,
the necessary appointments shall be madu by the following persons if available in the order set out
herein.:
1. Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Alameda;
2— Chairman of the Board of Supervisors of a County within. a 150 mile. radius of the
City of Alameda, 1(311 1. with the nearest and mist populated County;
U. Mayor of a City within a 150 mile radius of the City of Alameda, beginning with
the nearest and most populated City.
Al E TT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution does not lmtend to supersede in any manner
the provisions of the Charter of tEe City of Aiameda.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meetitic assembled on the
3rd day of October, 1961, by the followinte vote, to bat;
AYES: Councilmen. Godfrey, McCall, Schacht and President Collischonn, (4).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilman Dungan,
