RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA IN APPRECIATION
AND COMMENDATION OF MR. jCHN VERCEZ FOR HIS SERVICE TO THE CITY
OF ALAMEDA.
WHEREAS, Mr. JOHN VERGEZ was appointed on October 26, 1954, as a member of the Advisory
Golf Commission which was created by Ordinance No. 1138, New Series, and has actively served in this
capacity since that time; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Vergez has wholeheartedly' partiCipated in the functions of the Commission and
save generously cf his time end efforts in the campaign toward the establishment of the second
Alameda Municipal Golf Course; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Vergez brought honor and fame to himself and to the City of Alameda for many
years through his personal prowess in the sports world, and has been constantly mindful of the
benefits to he derived from adequate facilities for wholesome recreational activities—
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that, in recognition of his experience and poplar influ-
ence toward achieving improved additional facilities for the citizens of Alameda and the East Bay .
area who are golfing enthusiasts, the Council of the City of Alameda hereby expresses to 'r. Vergez
its gratitude and commendation for his faithful and excellent service on behalf of the community; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk forward a certified copy of this resolution to
Mr. Vergez as a token of sincere appreciation for his loyal efforts during his membership on the
Advisory Golf Commission and to extend to him its best wishes for his future good health and happiness.

introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the
