RESOLUTNN OF THE COUNCIL Of IftLE CITY OF ALAMEDA IN MEMORIAM
TO NR. Walfil,M D. 0610
WITH HEARTFELT GRIIEF, the Council of the City of Alameda records the death of one of its
loyal and respected members, COUNCILMAN WILLIAM D. DUNCAN.
WHEREAS, Mr. Dungan had served the City as a member of the Citizens Advisory Committee on
Municipal Affairs during 1950-51, and, through the years, had actively participated in the worths
while programs of many civic, fraternal and Church organizations; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Dungan had been elected to the office of Councilman of the City of Alameda by
vote of the people in the General Municipal Election held March 14, 1961, and hod executed his Oath
of Office on April 18, 1961; and
HEREAS, Mr. Dungan had conscientiously applied his time and effort to the performance of
his duties and had shown a most amicable and cooperative attitude toward his fellow Councilmen and
the Administrative Officials of the City of Alameda with whom he worked, and had engendered the
friendship and esteem of all iyith'whan he associated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that, in recognition of his integrity and desire to promote
the development of the City to the advantage of all of its people, the Council of the City of
Alameda hereby expresses its sense of personal loss and its gratefulness for the faithful representa-
tion of the citizens of the community as exemplified by Mr. Dungan.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be spread in full upon the minutes of this
meeting and a certified copy thereof be transmitted to the family of Mr. Dungan in order to extend
to it a sincere expression. of sympathy and condolence in its bereavement.
SE IT FURTHER '311 /61' that when this meeting of the Council of the City of Alameda
adjourns, it shall do so in respect to the memory of COUNCILMAN WILLIAM D. DUNGAN.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the
16th day of January, 1962, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Godfrey, McCall, Schacht and President Collischonn, (4).
NOES: None,
ABSENT: Councilman Dungan, (1).
