RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA APPROVING
UNDERTAKING OF SURVEYS AND PLANS FOR AN URBAN RENEWAL PROjECT
AND FILING OF AN APPLICATION.
WHEREAS, under Title 3 of the Housing Act of 194.9 as amended (herein referred to as
Is) , the ROusing and. Home Finance Admjnistrator is autheiticed. to extend financial assistance
to local public agencies in the elimdnation and prevention of the spread of theAr slums and urban
blight through the paanning and undertaking of urban. renewal projects; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable and in the public interest that the aedevelopment Agency of the.
City of Alameda make surveys and prepare. plans, presently estimabed to cost approximately Two
Hundred Thirty-one Thousand, Hive Hundred Seventy 0231,570.00) Dollars, in. order to undertahe
and carry out an urban reneuul project of the character contemplated by Section 110(c) of Title I,
in that area proposed as an Urban Renewal Area, situated in the City of 4. lameda, County of Alameda,
State. of California, which is described in Exhibit. 'A" attached herebo, which is incorporated.
herein by reference as if fully set forth herein;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED SY THE COUNCIL OF THE CTTY oF ALAMEDA:
I. That the proposed Urban Renewal Arca described above is a slum, blighted, deter-
iorated, or deteriorating area appropriate for an urban renewal project and that the undertaking
by the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Alameda of surveys and plans for an urban renewal
prolect of the character contemplated by Section 110(c) of Title 1 in the proposed Urban Renewal.
Area is hereby approved.
2. That the financial assistance available under Title is needed to enable the
Redevelopment Agency of the City of Alameda to finanee tile planning and undertaking of the proposed
Project.
3. That it is cognizant of the conditions that are imposed in the undertaking and carry-
ing out of urban renewal projects with. Federal financial assistance under Title 1.A including those.
relating to the relocation of site 41,1 31.31 to the provision of local. grants-in-aid, and to the
11 41 that as a condition to the exec1 tlon. of a contract for a loan. or capital grant for an
urban. renewal project the locality present to the Housing end Home Finance Administrator a Workable
Program, as set forth in Section 101(c) of Title T, for utilizing appropri', te. public and private.

the urban. renewal area, in conformity with Title I, can he prepared, and (b) that the local grants-
inneid can and w111 be provided in an ambunt which will be not less than one-third of the Net Project

the difference betipeen Cross Project Co5 t. and the proceeds or value of project land sold, leased,
or retained for use in accordance with the urban renewal plan.

for an advance of funds from the United States of America to enable it to derray the cost. of the.
surveys and plans for an. urban reneenl project in the proposed Urban. Renewal.. Aree described above
is hereby approved.
