RESCUPTIEN OF TEE COUNCIL OF' THE CITY OF ALAMEDA IN PrEITHIECEE
TO DOUGLS3 D. STAFFORD, H.D.
HEHH HEARTFEU SORROW, the Council of the City of Alameda records the death of one of its
well-known and beloved citicene, DOUGIAS D. HZAFFOHD, M, D., who had served as e. member of the
Library Board from February 23, 1955, until February 7, 1961, at Ebich time he found it necessary
to resign because of ill health.
ETIEREAS, Dr. Stafford had long heeb a promdnent physiclan. and surgeon. and hed given
unselfishly of his time and inwaluable knowledge and experience in response to the need of the.
people of the community; and
HEREAS, Dr. Stafford had been held in great esteem by all his colleagues for the high
standards maineained by his proficiency in his chosen field of endeavor,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that, in recognition of his dedication to the well-being
of all people, the Council of the Clty of Alameda. expresses its sense of pexeonal loss and its
gratitude for the deectIon exemplified by this distinguished humanitarian.
BE TT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be spread in full upon the minutew of this
meeting and a certified copy. thereof be transmitted Cc the family Of pr. Stafford in order to extend
to its cembers 10 . expression of 11 110 sympathy and condelence in their bereavement.
