RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA AUTHORIZING
INCREASE IN MILEAGE ALLOWANCE FOR CITY EMPLOYEES USING THEIR
PRIVATELY OWNED AUTOMOBILES ON CITY 8USIN11SS.
WHEREAS, certain employees of the City of Alameda have occasion to utilize their privately
owned automobiles on official City business; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable and equitable that said employees be fairly compensated for such
use; and
WHEREAS, the present rate of compensation therefor, to wit: seven cents (7c) per mile,
was established on January 7, 1948;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that the sum of ten
cents (10) per mile be, and the said sum is hereby allowed said employees using their privately
owned automobiles on official City business; provided, that single usages exceeding fifty (50)
miles round-trip shall be compensated at the rate of seven cents (70 per mile; and provided,
further, that the rates of compensation herein provided shall be applicable for all usages on and
after July I, 1962.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adoptecrby the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the
7th day of August, 1962, by the following vote, to wit;
AYES: Councilmen McCall, Rose, Schacht and President Collischonn, (4).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilman Godfrey, (1).
