Resolution 06431CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO, 6431
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA IN APPRECIATION
AND COMMENDATION OF MALCOLM McGOWN FOR HIS SERVICE TO THE CITY OF
ALAMEDA.
WHEREAS, Mr. Malcolm McCown was elected by the members of the Alameda Fire Department as
their representative and was subsequently appointed by the City Council as a member of the Pension
Board on May 5, 1933, under provisions of Ordinance No, 1079, New Series; and
WHEREAS, Mr. McCown had actively and effectively participated in the important functions
of this Board during these many years and had been most cooperative and friendly in the performance
of his duties on behalf of the Fire Fighters he so ably represented; and
WHEREAS, Mr. McCown had indicated the necessity for his retirement from the Pension Board
at the expiration of his term on December 31, 1962.
NOM, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Alameda does hereby
express its sincere commendation to Mr. McCown for his long period of service and its appreciation
of his integrity in the performance of his obligations.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk forward a certified copy of this resolution
to Mr. McGown as a token of the gratitude of the City Council for the loyalty exemplified by him,
with its felicitations for his continued good health and happiness.
