RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA IN COMMENDATION
AND APPRECIATION OF DR. DONALD D. ISM FOR IS SERVICE TO E CITY.
WHEREAS, DR. DONALD D. LUM had been appointed as a member of the Board of Education on
May 2, 1933; and
WHEREAS, upon completion of his current term on June 30, 1963, Dr. Lum had devoted thirty
years of noteworthy service to the City of Alameda and the Alameda Unified School District and had
acted in the capacity of President of this important Board for the past twenty-five years; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Lum, through his efficient leadership of this Body, has done much to promote
the development and maintenance of the high standard of education in the community; and
WHEREAS, in recognition of his invaluable service and the great esteem and affection with
which he has always been regarded by his associates, Dr. Lum has the distinction of having had the
District's newest elementary school named in his honor.
NCU, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Alameda, in grateful ack-
nowledgemeet of the remarkable service rendered by Dr. Lum on behalf of the citizens of the City,
dues hereby express its sincere appreciation for his outstanding contribution of time, experience
and effort in the functions of the Board of Education,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Clerk forward a certified copy of this resolution
to Dr. Lum as a token of commendation for his civic interest and to extend to him its felicitations
for his future good health and happiness.

introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the
16th day of July, 1963, by the following vote, to wit:
