OPERATION OF THE SAN FRANCISCO SAY MODEL.
WHEREAS, the Association of Bay Area Governments, through its Executive Committee, has
carefully considered the problems arising because the current program for the operation of the San
Franc4soo Bay Model will be terminated by June 30, 1964; and
WHEREAS, this Council agrees that many essential studies still need to be undertaken in
order that informed decisions of far reaching importance may be made in future years regarding the
development of the shoreline and the conservation of San Francisco Bay; and
WHEREAS, the Association concluded that its regional planning program and county and city
planning programs will greatly benefit from further model operation, as will the State of California
and the Federal Government; and
WHEREAS, the Executive Committee of the Association of Bay Area Governments, based upon
its said findings and conclusions, resolved that the United States Congress and the United States
Army Corps of Engineers be requested to take appropriate action.to insure continued operation of
the San Francisco Bay Model, and said Committee further resolved that support to its said Resolution
be given by among others, city councils in the Bay Area;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that. the City of Alameda, acting by and through its City
Council, hereby supports the action of the lixecutive Committee of the Association of Bay Area Govern-
ments regarding continued operation of the San Francisco Bay Model, and adopts by reference herein
the said Resolution adopted by said Executive Committee4
