RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA 1 MEMORIAM
TO WILLIAM A— McARINUR.
WITH PROFOUND SORROW, r.he Council of the City of Alameda records the death of one of Its
former, /1 51 employees, WILLIAM A. 3P '3 a Sergeant in the Police Department of the City of
Alameda,
WHEREAS, Sergeant McArthur had been employed by the City of Alameda on June 23, 1943, as
a Patrolman and had been promoted to the rank of Sergeant on February 1, 1959, in which capacity he
was working at the time oF his disability retirement on November I, 1963; and
WHEREAS, Sergeant McArthur had been a most conscientious Police Officer who 'as devoted to
the efficient performance of his duties, and had been very cooperative and friendly with all of his
Brother Officers, who have indeed been greatly saddened by his suffering and untimely death.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE II RESOLVED that, in recognition of Sergeant McArthur's loyal and out-
standing service during the many years of his City employ, the Council of the City of Alameda does
hereby express its sense of personal loss and its gratitude for the person', l. integrity of this fine
man which was evidenF in his work and which engendered the esteem and amicable relations of his
associates.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this ,1,( 1151 be spread in full upon the minutes of this
meeting and a copy thereof be sent to the family of Sergeant McArthur !II order to extend to its
members a sincere expression of sympathy in Lheir bereavement; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that when this meeting of the Council of the City of Alameda
adjourns, it shall do so in respect to the memory of WILIIAM A. McARTHUR.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adopted by 'ene Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the
7th day of April, 1964, by the following vote, to wit:
