WAIVING STRICT COMPLIANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THE ALAMEDA
MUNICIPAL CODE IN THE MATTER OF SICK LEAVE OF FLOYD E. DRAKE,
CHIEF OF POLICE.
WHEREAS, Floyd E. Drake, Chief of Police of the City of Alameda, is presently on sick leave,
which said leave at full pay expired on April 2, 1965; and
WHEREAS, said Chief of Police will be able to perform the duties of his office and continue
to serve therein, although not at all times physically present at Police Department headquarters,
and should for that reason, among others, continue to receive full pay; and
WHEREAS, this Council is fully advised In the premises and, good cause therefor having been
shown, finds and determines that the best interests of the City will be served by waiving strict com-
pliance with the provisions of the Alameda Municipal Code governing the matter of sick leave of
officers and employees and extending the full pay sick leave of said Floyd E. Drake from April 3,
1965, to July 1, 1965;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that, for good cause
shown, and in conformity with Section 2-5311, Alameda Municipal Code, the full pay sick leave of
Floyd E. Drake, Chief of Police, be, and the same hereby is, extended to July 1, 1965, said extension
to commence end be retroactive to April 2, 1965.

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the
6th day of April, 1965, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Freeman, La Croix, Jr., McCall, Rose and esident Godfrey, (5).

ABSENT: None.
