RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA IN MEMORIAM
TO ALEX P. '.,0),, '.3, RETIRED CAPTAIN OF THE ALAMEDA FIRE
DEPARTMENT.
WITH HEARTFELT GRIEF, the Cou ncil. of the City of Alameda records the death of one of its
former, faithful employees, Captain Alex P. McEoing of the Alameda Fire Departme, t.
WHEREAS, Capt. McEping had been appointed by the City of Alameda on October 1, 1929, to
serve as a Fireman and, by his earnest and constant efforts in. the performance of his duties, he
had advanced through the ranks to Lieutenant on 195 'a 16, 1)' and to Captain on Ahgust 18,
1944, in which latter capacity he was serving at the time of his retirement. on October 1, 1954: and
WHEREAS, Copt- klawing had been most competent and reliable in the leadership of his fire
fighterb in choir work on behalf of the City end had been. areatiy respected by his fellow employees
for his conscientious assumption of responsibilities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Alameda does hereby express
its approciation for the excellent service rendered by Capt. McEwing during the twenty-five years
of his employ with the City of Alameda and its sense of personal loss at the death of this fine man-
BE TY FURTHER RESOLVED, that this resolution be spread in full upon the minutes of this

meeting and a copy thereof be sent to the family of Capt. 44.' 1, in order .1 extend to its mentaers
a sincere expression of sympathy in their bereavement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that when this meeting of the Council of the .144 ,1 Alameda
adjourns, it shall do so in respect to the memory of ALEC P. McEMING.
