Resolution 07029CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 7029
AUTHORIZING THE CITY LIBRARIAN TO FILE APPLICATION WITH THE
STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE GRANTS.
WHEREAS, Chapter 1.5, Division 20, of the Education Code of the State of California provides
for assistance grants to public libraries in the State of California under certain terms and condi-
tions, and
WHEREAS, the Legislature of said State has appropriated funds for implementation of the act,
and has authorized the State Librarian to grant funds for the purpose of planning, establishing and
improving, and extending public library services in the State, and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda has participated in the establishment of the East Bay Coopera-
tive Library System and
WHEREAS, the deadline for making application during the current fiscal year for Establish-
ment Grants is September 30, 1966, and for Per Capita Grants is October 31, 1966,
NOR, IhEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that the City
Librarian be authorized to apply to the State Librarian for financial assistance grants on behalf
of the Alameda Free Library to implement the public library services within the City of Alameda in
accordance with Chapter 1.5, Division 20 of the Education Code and Title J, Chapter 2, ot the
California Administrative Code-

introduced and adopted by the Council of the City nf Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the
20th day of September, 1966, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Bartley, La Croix, Jr., Rose and President Godfrey, (4),
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilman McCall, (1).
