AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AMENDMENT TO GOLF COURSE ARCHITECTURAL,
PLANNING AND SUPERVISORY SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH SARAZEN, MUIRHEAU
& CALDWELL,
WHEREAS, on April 20, 1.966, and pursuant to Resolution No. 6935 theretofor adopted by this
Council, the City entered into a contract with Sarazen, Muirhead & Caldwell, a California corporation,
whereby certain architectural, planning and supervisory services in connection with City's Municipal
Golf Courses were to be provided; and
WHEREAS, the parties contemplated there should be direct and personal, full - time, supervision
of the actual reconstruction work on said Courses by a person competent and experienced in the premises,
and that the payment schedule and amounts provided for in Paragraph 2 of said agreement would be in
addition to further and adequate compensation to be paid for such full -time supervisory services; and
WHEREAS, Kenneth Caldwell, an officer of said Sarazen, Muirhead & Caldwell, is a person
skilled, competent and experienced in the work of reconstruction supervision and has, commencing
August 1, 1966, at City's request, provided such services, and accordingly, both parties to said
agreement are desirous that the agreement should be amended to provide specifically for adequate
payment for those additional supervisory services; and
WHEREAS, the Golf Course Executive Steering Committee has concurred. that said additional
services have been and continue to be necessary, that said Kenneth Caldwell has performed them and
that Architects should be compensated therefor in the amount hereinbelow provided;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that the architectural,
planning and supervisory services agreement with Sarazen, Muirhead & Caldwell, hereinabove mentioned
he amended to provide that said Architects shall receive a total additional amount of $4,200.00 as
compensation for full -time golf course construction supervisory services rendered and to be rendered,
at City's request, by said Kenneth Caldwell. Said amount shall be in addition to those sums provided
in Paragraph 2 of said agreement, and shall he paid by the City as follows:
(a) $1,400.00 forthwith, for work performed during the period ending August 91, 1966;
(b) $1,400.00 on or about October 5, 1966, for work performed during September, 1966; and
(c) $1,400.00 on or about November 2, 1966, for work performed during October, 1966,
BE TT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager be and hereby is authorized to execute, and
the City Clerk to attest, for and on behalf of the City, an amendment to said agreement providing Ear
such additional payment, said amendment to be a written agreement substantially in the form of that
filed in the office of said City Clerk and marked "Filed September 20, 1966."
