UTE OF ALAMEDA DESOIDTION NO. 9108
DECLARING CANVASS OF' RETURN'S AND RESULT OF GENERAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION HELD ON MARCH 14,_1969.
WHEREAS, a General Municipal Election was held in the City of Alameda on Tuesday4 March 14,
1967, under and pursuant to the '31' or of Article 11 of the Charter of sald City, 'Sr the pur-
pose of electing officers to fill the office of Councilman, as set forth hereinafter:
Teo (2) Councibmen on the Council of the City of Alameda. for twb (2) full
terms, cogoencing on tne third Tuesday dm April, 1969, and continuing for four (4)
years thereafter, and until a successor is elected and qualbfied in each case; and
WHEREAS, nominating petitions were duly and regularly presented to, and flied in. the offibe
of the City Clerk of the City- of Alameda, in the time, form and manner prescribed by the Charter of
said. City, 11(1 '51 for said offices the follmwing persons, to wit:

WHEREAS, said nominations were entered in a list, with the offices to be filled, which list
was certified to and filed in the time, form and manner required. by said Charter, whereupon an
Election 010.010 signed by the Mayor of the City- of Alameda, and attested by the City Clerk,
and containing a statement of the time of the election, the office to be filled and the nanes of 1'
candidates to be voted on, as the same were, by the Council of the City of Alameda, ordered to be
printed and appear on the ballot, was duly and regularly issued more than ten (10) days before said
election and was publiehed twice in. the official newspaper of' said City, the last publication thereof
being more than five (5) Tays before the date of' said election; and
WHEREAS, there were 15 election precincts within the City of Alameda fined. and. established
by resolution of the Council of said City and designated, fixed and established by the Board of Super-
isors of the County of Alameda, State of California, as the 1.13 01 precincts within tho City of
Alameda for holding general. State and County elections -0 the election precincts for holding the
aforesaid General Municibal Electdon of the City of Alameda; and
WHEREAS, all of the ballots used for said election were prepared as to form and contents, as
prescribed 0, law, and a sample ballot was mailed to each voter of the City of Alameda within the tiRm
and in the manner provided by lam) and such mailing was completed at least ten (lo) whole days pdeced-
ing the date of' said elect ion; and.
WHEREAS, the officers of election for said election were duly appointed and qualified. and
ail electien supplies were furnished. and election booths were provided for each precinct as proyEded
by- law; and
AP:BEAR, the Council of the City of Alameda, at this, its next regular meeting following
said election, has mot and fully canvassed the reterns of the votes cast at said General Municipal
Election as required by law, and being fully admiaed in tee pregdses, and haming the returns of said
canvass before it;
OW, TROCEFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, i)EEREENTNED AND DECLARED BY 2n COUNCIL OP THE CITY
OE' ALAMEDA and said Coancil finde, as follows:
(2) That said General Municipal Election was held and conducted, and the votes cast thereat
received and canvassed, and the returns thereof ascertained, determined and declared, in all respects
and particulars in the time, form and Fanner provided by law.

Councilman, were, and are hereby declared to be, duly and regularpg elected to the office of Council-
man and as members of the Council of the City of Alameda, each for a term beginning at 8:00 o'clock
p.m., on the third Tuesday in Aptdd, 1.90, and continuing for four (A) years and until a successor
