Resolution 07120CITY OF ALAMEDA NESOINTION NO. 2120 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE HIM OF ALAMEDA IN MEMORIAM TO HONER R. DALLAS, CITY TREASUNDi, RETIRED. WITH HEARTFELT GRIEF, the Council of the City of Alameda records the death of one of ita former and most loyal officiale, HOPIF.R R- DAILAS, Treasurer and Ex-offinio Tax Collector, of the City of Alameda, Retired, who had resigned from said office on April 16, 1960. HERFAS, Mr. Dallas had been appointed Deputy Treasurer in January, 0) (0, by Mr. Leon H. Aier, Treasurer, in utich post he served for Mike years; and ITIEREAS, Mr. Dallas had then been. one of seven candidates for t 'fice of Treasurer at the Municfpal Election held March 12, 1929, '0 which time he had been elected by an overwhelming majority of the vote of the people and had been so-elected to this office, unopposed, for the next seven terms, the last of which was at the Municipal Edoction held March 12, 1957; and WEREAS, Mr. Dalias had been ever alert to the great fiscal responsibility- of his office and had been equallzf aware of the value of making wise and proper investments on behalf of the City; and WHEREAS, Mr. Dallas had been most efficient in the conduct of the office of Treasurer and had engendered excellent public relations by his exemplification of r.-.. 'y, cooperation and friend- liness with all his associate workers and those with. whom he carried on City bueiness; and HEREAS, Mr. Dallae had been an active participant in the brogsqms of his Church and had wholeheartedly supported several worthy Civic, Cultural. and, Fraternal organizations of the community. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED tnat, in sincere recognition. of lalh integrity, his expert knowledge of fiscal management and his conscientious efforts during a record tenure of office, the Conrail of the City of Alameda does hereby express its high esteem for the noteworthy service rendered by Nr. Dallas to the mitizens of the community and to the Citm; of Alameda. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution. be spread in full upon the minutes of this meeting and that when this meeting of the Council of the City of Alameda adjourns, it shall do so in respect to the memory of HOYLE R. DALLAS, whose passing has deeply saddened his many friends.
