Resolution 07205CITY OF AIAMEDA E.-inoLuTION mc-) 72°5 AUTHORIZING ESTABLISHMENT OF PANEL OF PHYSICIANS TO PaiDER EMERGENCY SERVICES IN CONJUNCTION NITh OPERATION OF CITY'S FIRST AID STADION, AND PROVIDING FOR COMPENSATION OF SUM PNYEINANS WNEREAS, upon the recommendation of the City Physician this Council has deterndmed that a more effective and efficient program of providing emergenoy medical services required by Lo Cityls operation of its First Aid Station will be rendwred by establishing a group or panel of physicians to perform such services, rather than continuing the present system of attempting to maintain four part-time direct emrflwyment mostions of Emergency Surgeon. for that purpose, NON, THEREFORE, 8F I"' RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AIANEDA: (1) There is hereby authorized the establishment of a panel of physicians who are quali- fied and waling to provide emergency medical services as are or may be required in conjunction with the operation by- the City of its First Aid Station. (2) Said panel, and any replacements or substitutions thereon as may be necessary' from time to time, 3haaa be selected by the City Physician with the concurrence of the City Manager. (3) The City Physician and the City Manager, with the consent of members of the panel, shall formulate a schedule of on-call availability times for the meaUers and shall make such other rules as may' be necessary or desirable to effectuate the purposes of said panel and the finding hpre- inabovm recited. (4) None of the physicians who serves as a panel member shall for any purpose whatever be considered or held to be an employee of the City of Alameda. (5) The fee to be paid. by the City to a panel physician who renders authorized emergency medical. services pursuanI to paragraph ( ) :hall be based upon the following schedule: (a) Day Calla (weekdays, 8 a.m. to (b) Night Calla (weekdays, 5 p.m. to 8 a.m.) ............,.....$20.00 (c) Saturday, Sunday or Holiday Calls (any (6) Upon receiving certification by- the Gity Physician that monies under the foregoing schedule of fees ame payable to any panel physician for authorized medical services rendered hy him, the Auditor shall. issue appropriate warrants, drawn upon the City Treasury, payable to the person or persons, and in the amounts, specified .o01 said certification submitted by the City Physician. The certification shall be in writing and in. such form as the Auditor shs ll. approve, and may be tendered to the Auditor at such regular intervals of time as the City' Physician, with the consent of panel members, shall determine. (() This resolution shall be effective September 6, M98E, and thereafter until repealed, during which time its prchisions shall supersede and be in lieu of Section le of Resolution No. 6232 (adopted Judie 21, 1961) and that Section of Resolution No. 71O4 . (adopted June 20, 1.967) entitled, "First Aid, Code No. 6010, Emergency Surgeon, P. T." as net forth on pase eight of said. Pwsolution.
