(AFTERFONCI CANVASS Ef BURD OF SUPERVISORS OF ALAMEDA COUNTY OF STATE PRIMARY ELECTION HELD JUNE 4, 19SS WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Alameda did duly canvass the votes cast in the City of Alameda, County of Alameda, State of California, at the Special Municipal Charter Amendment Election consolidated with the State of California Primary Electiain helli on June 4, 196S, in said City by the electors of said•City upon the Charter kmendment Measures hereinafter set forth, and the County Clerk of said County did certify to this Council the result of the votes cast at said Election. upon said Measures, which certification is now on filb in the offdse of the City Clerk of said City of Alameda - being 00,, 71,10 No. 1258O2 A of the Board of Supervisors of the County- of Alameda, State of California. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED ST THE COUNCIL OF TNIF CITY OF ALAMEDA as follows: 1 - Said canvass by the Board of Supervisors of' Alameda CourMy as shbwn by said, cerfifica- tipn and the result of' safe Election is hereby- ratified, confirmed and approved. 2 - At said Election the following Charter Amendment Measures to the Charter of the City of Alameda were submitted to the electors of said. City- and the amber of votps cast in said City- for and against said Measures was as follows: AMENDMENT TO TH1 THAPTER OF' THE CITY OF 311 '0 MEASURE I; Shall the Charter of the City of Alameda be amended to provide that the monetary- limit for expenditure for the purchase of materials and supplies, or for the making of public work or imbrovement, 0, increased from the present limit of $1,000. to such limit as shall not exceed that provided for by State law for cities? (State law now provides for limit) Said amendment will be accomplished by adding Section 3-15.1 to said Charter, all. as fully- set forth 10 1) No. 7293 of the Council 0' 16 City of Alameda. AMENDMENT TO THE CHARMER OF TEE CITY OF ALUMEDA MEASURE J. Shall the Charter of the City of Alameda be amended to provide that the quallfication for election, or appointment, to any elective offices of the City be reduced from five to three years, as the period of' time such officer shall haye been an elector of the City continuously next preceding hie, election? Said amendment will be accomplished by adding Section 8-1.1 Alternate Three, to said Charter, all as fully set forth by Resolution_ No. 7293 of the Council of the City of Alameda. lBe total number of votes cast in said City of Alameda at said Special Municipal Charter Amendment Election and. the total. namber of votes given in each precinct for and against said Charter Amendment Measures was and is as set forth in. said canvass by the Board of Supervisors of Alameda County. 4 - More than a majority of all. the vbtes cast at said Special Municipal Charter Amendment Election on Measures 1. and J were in favor of said Measures and authorized the Amendments to the Charter of the City of' Alameda as set forth in said Charter Amendment Measures and these two parti- cular Measures passed. 5 - Less than a majority of all the votes cast at said Special Municipal Charter imiendment Election on Measures R. I, and N. were in favor of said Measures and accordingly, did not authorine those amendments to the Charter of the City of Alameda as set forth in said Charter Amendment Measures, and Measures K, L and M did not pass.
