ELECTION TO BE HELD TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 5, 1968, Kiln THE
GENERAL ELECTION OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA To BE HEID ON
TUESDAY, NOV:FREER 5, 1968
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCII, OF' MC CITY OF ALAMEDA that pursuant to the provisions of
Chapter 4, Part 2, Division 12, of' the Elections Code of California, and of' Section Co 233 thereof,
and pursuant to Article XIK of tne Charter of the Oity of Alameda, a Coeciar MUnicihml Election fro
the purpose of submitting to the electorate a certain Charter amendment as set forth in the statement
of the questibn hereinbelow, be consolidated with the General Election of the State of California
to be held Tuesday, November' 5, 8968.
BE IT FEEBLER RESOLVED that the election precdncts, polling places, voting booths, and
electibn officers who shall conduct said Special Mthioipml Election errs hereby designated to be the
samb as the election precincts, polling places, voting booths, and elarifier officers as shall be.
designated, established and appoibted 1.' resolutdbn or ordinance of the Hoard of Supervisors of the
County of AlaEeda for the purpose of holding and cbmducting said General Elect2 on. within the territory
affected by this order of consolidation, and that said election shall be held in all. respects as if
there were only one elootion-
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board cf Supervisors of said County of Alameda is hereby
authoriged and. empowered to canvass the returns of said Special. Municipal Election and certify tEe
results thereof.
DE IT DURITER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County or' klamcda, be, and it
is hereby requested to make. its order and to tahb such other and furthbr p'- 'r. as may be neces-
sary to effect the consolidation of said Special Municipal Electien with sale General Election of the
State of California, all in accordance with the laws of the State of California regulating and provid-
ing for the consolidation oh' elections.
BE NURTHEE RESOLVED that the exact form of the question or proposition. to be voted on
at such General. Election, and as the same is to appear en the ballot, is as foirows:
MEASURE A
Snell the Charter of the Cit of Alameda be amended to provide that the Hoard .. ...... .......
of Education of ths AlameEa Unified School District shall consist of five
members to be elected by direct vote ot the people at large, each of said
members to serve a four-ybar term? Said amendment will be accomplished ty
adding Section 11-2 to said Charter, ail as fully set forth by Resolution
No. 7391 of the Council of the City of Alameda.
BE IT FIRMER RESOLVED that the measure herbin, borb referred to shall be designated on
the ballot as "Proposed amendment to the Charter of the City of Alameda, California."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Alambda is hereby directed Mc
immediately' file with the Board of Supervisors, Ccunty of Alameda, State of California, this Reso-
lution, duly- certiltibd by said City Clerk, and fidB a copy of said certiTied Resolution with the
County- Clerk of the County of Alameda, State of California.
