PRIGIHICTS; FIXING NUMBER OF' ELECTION OFFIGEES ON THE BOARD
OF' ELECTION FOR EAOH PRECINCT; FIXING COMPENSATION OE' ELEGIION
OFFICERS-AND DNS-EMU:NO HOURS OF VOTING
WHEREAS, Altiule XIX of the Charter of the City of Alameda provides that a General Municildi
Election shall be held ix said City on. Tuesday, March 11, 1969; and
MUEREAU, at said. General Municipal Election, and pursuant to the provisions of the Charter
of said City, officers are to be elected to fill the office of Councilman for three full terma; the
office of Councilman for one unexpired term; the office of Auditor for one foil term; the office
of Treasurer for one full term; the office of member of the Board of' 3)63)2)31 3) for three full terms
of four years; and the office of member of the Board of Education for two terms of two years.
NOW, iTaREEvaE, BE IT RESOUND BY THE COUEBUT OF INE CITY OF ALAMEDA that a General Munici-
pal Election be, and is hereby, called and ordered to be held in said City of Alameda, State of'
California, on Tuesdayu March 11, 1969, in accordance with the provisions of said Charter of the City
of Alameda, for the purpose of electing the following named_ officers of the City for the terms specified:
Three (3) Councilmen on the Council of sadd City for three full terms, each term commencing
at 7:30 o'clock p.m. on the third Tuesday An April, 1969, and continuing for four (4) years
thereafter and until a successor is elected and qualified;
One (1) 13)3)' 4' on the Council. of said City for one unexpired term xmmnencing at 7e5C
o'clock p.m. on tho third Tuesday in April, 1969, and conthnuing for two (2) years there-
after and until a successor is elected and qualified;
One (1) to of said City for a full term commencing at 7:30 o'clock p.m. on the third
Tuesday in April, 1969, and continuing for four (4) years tnereafter and until a successor
eleCted and qualifiedi
One (1) Treasurer of said City for a full term commencing at 7130 o'clode p.m. on the third
Tuesday n April, 1969, and continuinm for four (4) years thereafter and until a successor
is elected and qualified;
Three (3) members of the Board of Education of said. City for a full term commencing at
7:30 o'clock p.m. on the third Tuesday in April, 1969, and continuing for four (4) years
thereafter and until a successor is elected and qualified;
Two (2) members of the Board of Education of said City- for a term commencing at 7:30 o'clock
p.m. on the third Tuesday hn April, 169, and continuing for two (2) years thereafter and
until a successor is elected and qualified;
and for the purpose of vxting on any measures or propositions which may awfully be submitted at said

2 lit FURTHER RESOLVED that the 60 election precincts within the City of Alameda, designated
and numbered as the same were last heretofore defined, fixed and established by- the Board of' Super-
vizors of the County of Alameda, State of California, as the election precincts Edthin the City- of
Alameda for holding General. State and County filectiens, be, and the same aro hereby, fimed, desigated
and established as the eleetion precincts for holding the aforesaid General. Municipal Election.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Election for each election precinct at said General.
1. 4113) Election shall consist of one Inspector, one Judge and two Clerks.
RESOLVED, FUECIFER, that the compensation, td be paid to eaoh of the election officers for con-
ducting said General Munioipal Election be, and the same is hereby, gixed at the sum of Fifteen ($15,)
Dollars and an extra sum of Iwo ($2,) Dollars shall be paid to the election officer who delivers the
returns to the City Clerk.
RESONIED, FURTHER, that the polls at the polling places hereafter to be designated by the
Council for said election. shall be opened at F:00 o'clock 0,I3t (P.S.T.) o said day of election and
shall be kept open continuously thereafter until V:00 o'clock p.rr (B.S.T.) of said day of election.
when the polls shail be closed (except as provided in Section 14436 of the California Elections Code)
and the election officers shall thereupon proceed, to canvass thu 1' 1, cast thereat and the returns
of said election shall be made out and signed 63 63) election officers and shall be by them deposited
with the City Clerk, together with the ballots cast at said election_
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that this Council shall, meet at its usual meeting place and canvass said
returns or. Tuesday, the 18th day of March, 1969, (being the first Tuesday after said General Municipal
Election and the date of the first regular meeting of the Council following said General Municipal
Election) at the hour of 7:30 o'clock p.m. and declare the results of said General Mbricioal Election.
ESOINTM, FURTHER, that the City- Clerk bo, and she is hereby, directed to do and perform any
and all acts required of her under the Charter, of the City of Alameda and the labb of' the State of
California in respect to said General Municipal Election_
ME IT FIRMER RESOLVED that said General Wuniciyal Election called and ordered to be held,
as aforesaid, shall be hela and condunted, and the votes cast thereat received and canvassed,and the
returns thereof made, and the result thereof ascertained, determined and declared, as herein pro-
vided, and in all particulars not recited herein, in accordanc6 with the Charter of said City of
Alameda ane the lams of the State of California governing saie General MXnicapal Flectibm.
U, the undersigned, hereby- certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
ixtroduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the
7th day of TGnuaryd 116H, by the following vote, to wit:
